Here is Steven's Address:
PFC Steven Pflepsen
K Troop 3-3 ACR
FOB MAREZ
APO AE 09334
From what I understand, you can address a care package to "Any Soldier" and
the Chaplin will see that a soldier that doesn't get a lot from home will get it.
I know right now its hotter than hot there. Steven said 120 degrees right now.
I sent Oreo's and Sugar Cookies because they shouldn't melt.
Steven said that Kool Aid / Crystal Light packets that they can pour into their canteens is a big hit.
The soldiers are to drink gallons of water a day, so it helps flavor the water so it doesn't get so blah.
Other items we have sent Steven that I know he said any soldier uses is:
Chap Stick
Foot Powder
Body Wash ( I know Steven gets to shower about once a week)
Baby Wipes to wipe their faces and hands. Most of the Combat Out Posts don't have shower facilities, so
these are used a ton.
Any homemade goodies the soldiers just gobble down.
A DVD of home they love too. Just like driving around and having the kids shoot pictures of your area.
I know it sounds weird, but all they see 24 - 7 is sand. There is no grass and no leafy trees in Iraq
Make sure and go to the post office and get a flat rate box.
Here, we have to ask for them. Its cheaper than using a regular box
and it takes about 4 days for the soldiers to get their mail.
If you need to know anything else, let me know!
